Why are my ears itchy when I wear my hearing aids?
If you experience itchiness in your ears while wearing hearing aids, it may be due to a dome that is either too large or has become old and worn. We recommend changing the dome every 2-3 months. When experiencing ear itch, it is advisable to temporarily remove the hearing aids until the itch subsides, then reinsert the hearing aids.
Itchiness may also be the result of dry skin or earwax in your ear canals. If you believe this is the case, please consult with your physician for steps to remedy dry skin and/or earwax accumulation.
All Hearingly domes are crafted from medical-grade and hypoallergenic silicone. Additionally, you can explore the use of lubricants such as EARGENE and/or OTO-EASE. It is recommended to avoid using peroxides for ear itch relief.
